Impact 12u takes Second at Field of Dreams

On the Fourth of July weekend the Central Wisconsin Impact traveled south to Iowa to participate in the All Star Baseball Classic Field of Dreams tournament. The tournament was highlighted by big wins and the opportunity to play an international team based in Doral (Miami) Florida. The weekend closed with the Central Wisconsin Impact taking home second place.
The tournament started with two Central Wisconsin Impact 12Upitchers team up for no-hitter in 8-0 victory over Dubuque Gold
Two pitchers joined forces to throw a no-hitter for Central Wisconsin Impact 12U in an 8-0 victory in four innings over Dubuque Gold on Friday at Dubuque Sports Complex.
Logan Schulfer and Nathan Konkol teamed up to stifle Dubuque Gold, striking out six while walking one.
Logan shut down Dubuque Gold while he was on the rubber. Logan held Dubuque Gold hitless over 3 2/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out six.
Seven runs in the first three innings helped Central Wisconsin Impact 12U blow out Dubuque Gold.
A groundout by Isaac Cychosz, an RBI single by Brock Warren, an RBI double by Tyler Beyer, and a groundout by Carson Guck in the first inning and an error, a fielder's choice, and a groundout by Brock during the second inning supplied the early offense for Central Wisconsin Impact 12U.
Trey Zagrzebski went a perfect 2-2 at the dish for Central Wisconsin Impact 12U. He singled in the second and fourth innings.
The Impact next matched up with Papa John’s Team Doral but was not able to match the international team’s athletes. Team Doral won the Miami area baseball tournament for free trip to Iowa to compete in the Field of Dreams tournaments. Players on the team range from Columbia to Chili to Miami.
The Impact with a one-one record next moved on to the bracket play as the three seed and opened up with the Schaumburg Flyers out of Chicago Illinois.
Central Wisconsin Impact 12U jumped out to an early lead on the Schaumburg Flyers and captured an 8-0 victory on Saturday.
With five runs in the first three innings, Central Wisconsin Impact 12U left no doubt about the eventual outcome.
An RBI single by Tyler Beyer, a wild pitch, an RBI single by Carson Guck, a sacrifice fly by Kaden Mazur, and an error in the first inning fueled Central Wisconsin Impact 12U's offense early.
Central Wisconsin Impact 12U scored five runs in the first inning to build an early lead.
Central Wisconsin Impact 12U was led by a flawless day at the dish by Isaac Cychosz, who went 3-3 against the Schaumburg Flyers' pitching. He tripled in the first inning and singled in the second and fourth innings.
Tanner Schude got it done on the rubber on the way to a win. He pitched five shutout innings. Tanner struck out 10, walked one and gave up one hit.
Central Wisconsin Impact 12U built upon its lead with two runs in the fourth. A wild pitch scored Nathan Konkol to start the scoring in the inning. That was followed up by Isaac’s single, scoring Trey Zagrzebski.
In the Semi-Final Game the Impact took on the second seed Pewaukee Pirates.
Central Wisconsin Impact 12U jumped out to an early lead on the Pewaukee Pirates and captured a 10-1 victory on Sunday.
The game was decided quickly as Central Wisconsin Impact 12U exerted its will early with six runs in the first three innings.
A three-run home run by Logan Schulfer and an RBI double by Carson Guck during the first inning and an RBI double by Logan in the second inning helped Central Wisconsin Impact 12U put some runs on the board early.
Logan racked up four RBIs on two hits for Central Wisconsin Impact 12U.
The Pewaukee Pirates couldn't get anything going as long as Tyler Beyer was pitching. The Pewaukee Pirates managed just three hits off of the Central Wisconsin Impact 12U's pitcher, who allowed one earned run, walked none and struck out four during his four innings of work.
Central Wisconsin Impact 12U tacked on another four runs in the fourth. Tyler's single got things going, bringing home Trey Zagrzebski and Isaac Cychosz. That was followed up by Carson's single, bringing home Tyler.
The rematch was set up after the last victory to again take on Papa John’s Team Doral. The outcome of the game was the same however with the Impact falling in the Championship game.
The Impact now sit at 17-6-1 on the season and will head back to the Wisconsin Dells to play in the GameDay USA Summer Slug Fest Tournament.
