Central WIsconsin Impact go 2-0 at GRB Tournament

The Central Wisconsin Impact 12u team headed this past weekend to Watertown to play in the GRB Rays tournament and came away with a 2-0 record before the monsoons came in.
An eight-run explosion in the fourth inning hoisted Central Wisconsin Impact 12U to a 10-0 win in four innings over Arrowhead Diamond Club at Brandt Quirk Park in Watertown on Saturday.
Central Wisconsin Impact 12U scored in the fourth on a groundout by Tanner Schude, an RBI single by Carson Guck, two errors by Arrowhead, an RBI double by Logan Schulfer, and a three-run home run by Tyler Beyer.
Tyler racked up three RBIs on two hits for Central Wisconsin Impact 12U.
Logan shut down Arrowhead Diamond Club while he was on the bump. Schulfer gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out six during his four innings of work.
The game's last lead went to Central Wisconsin Impact 12U thanks to a third inning rally that saw two runs cross the plate on a two-run error.
In Game two of the GRB Tournament the Central Wisconsin Impact 12U beat Title Town Select 8-5 in six innings on Saturday at Brandt Quirk Park in Watertown behind Brock Warren, who went 4-4 at the plate.
He singled in the first, second, fifth, and sixth innings.
Tyler Beyer recorded the win for Central Wisconsin Impact 12U even though he allowed five runs over six innings. He struck out six, walked one and surrendered nine hits.
Central Wisconsin Impact 12U didn't relinquish the lead after scoring two runs in the first inning when it scored on a two-run home run by Logan Schulfer.
Central Wisconsin Impact 12U added three more runs in the top of the second. The inning looked promising, as Carson Guck singled, scoring Nathan Konkol to kick things off. That was followed up by Cychosz’s single, bringing home Carson.
After pushing across one run in the bottom of the second, Title Town Select faced just a 5-1 deficit. An RBI single by Schmitz sparked Title Town Select's rally but Klein struck out to end the Title Town Select threat.
After pushing across one run in the bottom of the fourth, Title Town Select faced just a 5-2 deficit. An RBI single by Casper triggered Title Town Select's comeback. Central Wisconsin Impact 12U stopped the rally after Tyler got Wallenfang to ground out.
Central Wisconsin Impact 12U built upon its lead with two runs in the fifth. A sacrifice fly scored Brock to start the scoring in the inning. That was followed up by Jared Mountin's single, scoring Logan Schulfer.
A three-run sixth inning helped bring Title Town Select within three. An RBI single by Schram and a two-run single by Gretzinger gave Title Town Select life. But, Tyler got Casper to ground out to end the game.
After play on Saturday the Impact was sitting at 2-0 and poised for the championship round. The weather however had a different opinion and the rains came down all Saturday night and Sunday morning. With the rain received earlier in the week the fields now became small ponds. With that the tournament was cancelled.
The Central Wisconsin Impact will now prepare to head to the Woodside Sports Complex for the USSSA Wisconsin State Championships.
The Impact 12u team currently sits at 9-3 on the 2015 season.
