CENTRAL WISCONSIN IMPACT 12u TAKES SECOND at USSSA BUFFALO CUP TOURNAMENT

The Central Wisconsin Impact 12u team traveled to the Woodside Sports Complex on May 30-31st to complete in the USSSA Buffalo Cup tournament. The Impact completed the tournament with a second place finish behind the bat of Logan Schulfer and Brock Warren.

In game one of the tournament the CW Impact jumped out early to cruise to an easy victory.

Central Wisconsin Impact 12U jumped out to an early lead on Southwest Storm and captured a 12-3 victory on Saturday at Mauston.

With 12 runs in the first three innings, Central Wisconsin Impact 12U left no doubt about the eventual outcome.

A wild pitch and a walk by Nathan Kropidlowski in the first inning and an error, a two-run double by Logan Schulfer, a wild pitch, and a hit by pitch during the second inning fueled Central Wisconsin Impact 12U's offense early.

The game was back-and-forth heading into the second, with five lead changes.

Logan got it done on the mound on the way to a win. He allowed two runs over two innings. He struck out two, walked three and surrendered no hits.

Jared Mountin, Logan, Isaac Cychosz and Brock Warren helped lead Central Wisconsin Impact 12U. They combined for six hits and five RBIs.

It didn't take long for Central Wisconsin Impact 12U to respond as it scored two runs of its own in the first.

In game two of the tournament the CW Impact made a run at a victory but came up short against the Polk Burnett Shockers.

Twelve hits weren't enough for Central Wisconsin Impact 12U as it lost a shootout, 9-8 in six innings, to Polk Burnett Shockers on Saturday at Mauston.

Brock Warren put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for Central Wisconsin Impact 12U. He singled in the third inning and doubled in the fifth and sixth innings.

Nathan Kropidlowski was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked none, struck out none, and allowed one run.

In the bottom of the first, Polk Burnett Shockers grabbed the early lead, 2-0.

After posting three runs in the second, Polk Burnett Shockers again scored three in the fourth.

Central Wisconsin Impact 12U brought home three runs in the third inning, and matched that run total in the sixth. In the third, Central Wisconsin Impact 12U scored on an RBI single by Brock, bringing home Jared Mountin.

After going 1-1 in pool play the CW Impact were seed third in the bracket and prepared to play Sunday to make its run at the championship opening up against the SW Storm.

An eight-run explosion in the second inning carried Central Wisconsin Impact 12U to a 9-1 win in five innings over Southwest Storm at Woodside sports field eight on Sunday.

Central Wisconsin Impact 12U scored in the second on a two-run single by Kaden Mazur, a three-run double by Isaac Cychosz, an RBI single by Brock Warren, and a two-run home run by Logan Schulfer.

Brock struck out seven hitters en route to the Central Wisconsin Impact 12U win. Brock allowed one earned run on four hits and one walk over five innings.

Central Wisconsin Impact 12U's Logan, Isaac and Kaden combined for five hits and eight RBIs.

Central Wisconsin Impact 12U built upon its lead with one run in the fifth. A single by Kaden ignited the offense, plating Jacob Wipfli. That was followed up by Kaden's single, bringing home Jacob.

The CW Impact next moved on to play the two seed CIBA team from Madison in the Semi-Final Game.

An exceptional effort by Logan Schulfer led Central Wisconsin Impact 12U to a 14-2 win in four innings over CIBA on Sunday at Woodside.

Logan blasted two home runs for Central Wisconsin Impact 12U. Logan went 2-3 in the game with five RBIs and three runs scored. Logan homered in the second and third innings.

Thirteen runs in the opening three innings allowed Central Wisconsin Impact 12U to easily put away CIBA. A two-run double by Jared Mountin during the first inning and a three-run double by Brock Warren and a two-run home run by Logan in the second inning fueled Central Wisconsin Impact 12U's offense early.

Isaac Cychosz brought the heat against CIBA during his outing. CIBA managed just one hit off of the Central Wisconsin Impact 12U's pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out five during his three innings of work.

Central Wisconsin Impact 12U built upon its lead with six runs in the third. The inning got off to a hot start when Nathan Kropidlowski singled, plating Jacob Wipfli. That was followed up by Brock's double, plating Carson Guck and Kaden Mazur.

The win over the CIBA team set up a rematch with the Polk Burnett Shockers in the tournament championship game.

Central Wisconsin Impact 12U wound up on the wrong side of an 8-0 score on Sunday, tasting defeat at the hands of Polk Burnett Shockers.

Polk Burnett Shockers was sparked by the three and four hitters who teamed up for six hits and five RBIs.

Logan Schulfer took the loss for Central Wisconsin Impact 12U. He lasted just two innings, walked two, struck out one, and allowed four runs.

The Central Wisconsin Impact will take the following weekend off to prepare for the GRB Rays Prep Baseball Report tournament in Watertown Wisconsin on June 12-14.
